A denture is a removable replacement for missing teeth and surrounding tissues. There are two types of dentures - complete and partial. Complete dentures are used when all of the teeth are missing, while partial dentures are used when some of the natural teeth remain. The teeth are made of plastic, porcelain, or a combination of both. In some cases, dentures rely on bonding, clip on to remaining teeth, or are assisted by dental implants. It is important that denture wearers have regular dental exams to examine the oral tissues for disease or change.
