Veneers are thin pieces of porcelain, cemented over the front of your teeth to change their color or shape. They are routinely used to fix teeth that are discolored, worn down, chipped, broken, misaligned, or irregularly shaped. Sometimes they are used to close a space between teeth.
First, your dentist will remove a small amount of the tooth surface to permit placement of the veneer. Following this preparation, an impression is taken of the tooth and sent to the dental laboratory. The veneer is then made to fit the tooth and mouth, and bonded to the tooth by your dentist. Veneers are a great alternative to improve the appearance of your smile.
